Primary Prevention's Preventive Health Centre is a medical weight-management and preventive health clinic. Physician supervised, we employ a multi-disciplinary team in the support, motivation and treatment of at-risk or overweight patients.

"Our mission is to provide the optimum in preventive healthcare in a rational evidence-based approach."

We are associated with the Quebec-based Maurice Larocque & Associates (MLA) clinics that provide us with quality educational, motivational and dietary tools, which we use to supplement our program.

Our Unique Approach

Our approach is unique in that it considers the many and varied issues that may contribute to a patient's particular condition. As such, we offer assessments by physicians, dieticians, nutritionists, kinesiologists and psychologists in keeping with our comprehensive methods.

Medically Supervised

The Preventive Health Centre is supervised by its Medical Director, Adrian Woodrow, MD, who holds a medical degree from the University of Calgary Medical School. His undergraduate degree in chemistry is from the University of Alberta. Having completed his internship at Toronto's renowned Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Woodrow has been a Family Physician for 20 years with the last 12 being in Innisfil (Barrie), Ontario. He continues to specialize in bariatrics (treatment of obesity and related conditions) and is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP).

Dr. Woodrow is committed to the prevention of disease and remains current in all leading related medical developments. He most recently participated in Harvard University's series of CME courses in the treatment of obesity and eating disorders.

Dr. Woodrow resides in Toronto, is married and has three lovely children. He too recently lost 25 pounds.
